Come see the amazing things the GETA (Green Energy Technology Academy) Students at Laguna Creek High School are doing in Elk Grove. We are involved in many different competitions, outreach events and international opportunities. These include Solar Suitcases built and sent to individuals in energy poor nations , Pico- Balloon Satellites, RC Land Sail Carts, Regatta Boats, Wind Turbines in association with Simis of Norway, Upcycled Plastics, Hydrogen Powered RC Race Cars and Amateur Radio.

Eric Johnson

Eric Johnson has been teaching for 33 years...the past 25 at Laguna Creek High School. He began his career as a chemistry instructor at his alma matter, Red Bluff High School , transitioned to AP Physics at Laguna Creek High School in 2001 and in 2008 began the Green Energy Technology Academy (GETA). The program has seen incredible success in the form of sending 178 solar suitcases to 27 different nations in the past 16 years; raced in the 2014 Solar1 World Challenge in Monte Carlo, Monaco, Competed last month at the World Finals in the Hydrogen Grand Prix, won the Championship Cup at the Annual SMUD Solar Regatta 6 times in the past 11 attempts, taught students the theory of sailing with the fabrication and operation of RC Land Sail Carts and is now taking students into Satellite and Pico-Balloon technology with the help from amazing mentors.
